EdTechReview.in, a blog dedicated to education technology, has released a report detailing how GetLinks, an HRTech startup and ecosystem, has acquired Ekrut, an Indonesian high-quality jobs platform, for an undisclosed amount.

GetLinks, which was founded in 2015, focuses on building tech communities and connecting users to regional work opportunities. The company also plans to add upskilling features to its platform. Headquartered in Bangkok, GetLinks is working towards redefining the future of work by empowering its community to move across borders, career paths and social ladders.

With this deal, GetLinks is now up against some of Indonesia’s biggest players in the job market, such as JobStreet and Indeed. Job postings in the country have been steadily dropping since the start of this year, with active listings experiencing a 16.1% dip from January to April 2023.

EKRUT, established in 2016, is a platform which enables users to land multiple job offers with a single application. After employers post their hiring needs, they can instantly invite relevant skills for interviews. The platform specializes in tech candidates from five core backgrounds, such as Software Engineering, Product Management, Data Science/Analysis, Marketing and Communications, and Operations. Companies that have made use of their services include Gojek, Tokopedia, Ovo, and RedDoorz.

To date, Ekrut has raised a total of US$3.9 million. The company currently has a US$12 million valuation, according to VentureCap Insights data.

This acquisition is great news for teachers and educators, as it offers them a better chance of finding jobs and upskilling opportunities. With GetLinks and Ekrut’s combined resources, teachers can now tap into a larger pool of opportunities and a greater number of employers. It also provides them with a chance to explore new career paths and have a better understanding of the job market in Indonesia.
