Grasp, an online learning platform based in the UK, has recently secured $4 million in a seed round led by Balderton Capital. Point9, Moonfire and Mozilla were also among the investors who contributed to the round. With this capital injection, the startup plans to invest in further development of its platform and expand its team with key product, data science, and engineering hires.
Founded by Ed Matthews and Jacob Sidorov, former employees of Revolut, Grasp is an educational platform created to help people improve their learning, deepen their knowledge, and increase their skill sets. The platform focuses on modern vocational skills like programming, and has a waiting list for its beta test.
Ed Matthews, Grasp’s founder and CEO, said: “The user experience as an adult learner sucks! Whether we’re learning to solve specific problems at work or trying to modernise our skill sets, learning could be more convenient, personalised, and less of a hassle. Team Grasp is dedicated to making this happen.”
Daniel Waterhouse, Partner at Balderton Capital, commented on the investment: “We are thrilled to be working with Ed and his vision to transform self-learning in today’s world, where skill requirements are constantly changing and people are eager to learn and adapt.”
In April this year, Grasp received non-equity assistance from AWS Space Accelerator.
As education technology continues to evolve, it is important to keep up with the latest advancements and platforms like Grasp. This platform will provide teachers and students with the convenience of learning modern skills quickly and efficiently. With its comprehensive educational platform, Grasp is set to revolutionize the way people learn and keep up with the ever-changing skill requirements.
