Money 360: Premier Members Credit Union Launches Financial Literacy Programme for Kids

Education technology has seen a massive surge in usage and importance in recent years. Premier Members Credit Union (PMCU) has taken a step forward in this regard with the launch of Money 360, a platform designed to provide customized financial literacy education to children who are 13 years old and above. This program is being initially launched in collaboration with Chavez Huerta K-12 Preparatory Academy in Pueblo.

Money 360 has both a digital app and classroom-based curriculum designed to give students an interactive financial literacy experience. The app is available in both English and Spanish and offers more than 800 modules on 54 different topics, ranging from opening a bank account to saving for retirement.

When students correctly answer questions, they earn points in the form of Pineapples. These points can then be redeemed as donations to vital Colorado-specific nonprofits such as Mile High United Way, The Latin American Educational Foundation, and Mental Health Colorado. As the program grows, more nonprofits will be able to take part.

Jeffrey Kash, PMCU’s Assistant Vice President for Community Relations, spoke about the initiative saying, “PMCU is committed to leading the charge with effective financial literacy education in partnership with school districts, teachers and partner organizations across the Front Range. Teaching financial literacy to our youth is essential, and the goal of Money 360 is to make learning fun, simple and social, providing financial education to all.”

He further added, “We hope that this program reaches beyond the school district and the students but also engages with their families, faculty, staff, and even cousins in neighbouring communities.”

Each school that joins PMCU’s Money 360 programme will be provided with a unique QR code to access it. This QR code will allow administrators to track usage, user demographics, most popular topics, and how much their students are learning.

PMCU is a nonprofit, ecologically conscious financial institution that provides consumers with financial solutions. The company has locations in Denver, including Boulder, Erie, Estes Park, Firestone, Longmont, Louisville, and Westminster. The platform takes pride in giving back to the community by supporting various charitable activities and fundraising events.

Teachers can now use Money 360 to provide their students with a comprehensive and interactive financial literacy education. The platform’s gamified lessons and rewards-based incentives make learning fun and engaging. Money 360 is the perfect tool to teach students the importance of financial literacy and help them develop the skills they need to make informed decisions about their money.
