EdTech is revolutionizing the way we access and acquire education. And TAPCareers is leading this revolution by helping people across the Middle East and North Africa access remote job opportunities.

Co-founded in 2018 by Jafar Shunnar and Christian Vezjak, TAPCareers is a Dutch-Palestinian EdTech and career acceleration platform that bridges the gap between marginalized populations and the tech sector. Through 10 weeks of online education, TAPCareers helps students upgrade their skills and develop market-relevant digital skills and power skills before connecting them with international employers.

Recently, TAPCareers closed a seed funding round of $1 million led by Wamda Capital, with participation from the World Bank, Loyal VC, and other angel investors. This funding will be used to expand their operations across the MENA region.

The company has partnered with the Swiss Development and Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to create jobs. In just one year, they have imparted training to more than 100 students, and are aiming to place more than 1,000 graduates on jobs yearly. Currently, TAPCareers is operational in Palestine, helping 40% of graduates and 60% of women under 30 find employment.

TAPCareers is also making sure that students are prepared for the job market and have the necessary skills to be successful. They offer mentorship from industry experts, so students can develop the skills they need to succeed.

By 2050, the Middle East and North African region will need 300 million new jobs to accommodate its youth population. TAPCareers is helping to bridge this gap by connecting talented graduates with job opportunities they otherwise wouldn’t have access to.

EdTech is transforming the way we access education, and TAPCareers is leading the charge. With their innovative platform, they are helping to create a more equitable education system and giving students the access they need to succeed.
