Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS), Government of Meghalaya, has recently announced an exclusive programme to equip engineering and management students with digital skills in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) incorporating the SAP platform. TimesPro, a premier Higher EdTech platform, is facilitating the training of the first batch of learners in Shillong, with the initiative being replicated across different regions of the State.

This programme, which is the first of its kind in the Northeastern region of India, will improve the Employability Index of students and bridge the skill-employability divide. It will provide students with the necessary new-age skills to enhance their career prospects, giving them the ability to program and design front-end and back-end tools to run a business.

Shri Dr Vijay Kumar, CEO of MSSDS, said: “Providing students with cutting-edge skills is essential for sustainable growth and development of our region. Our vision of ‘Skill India’ and ‘Skill Meghalaya’ can be achieved by involving our youth in the mainstream and providing our learners with opportunities to grow and excel in their careers.”

The programme in ERP training is open to students in the final year of their undergraduate management programme and technical disciplines, such as B. Tech, MCA, and MBA. TimesPro aims to build a knowledge-based economic ecosystem with cost-effective programmes from the world’s best ERP Company. It offers employment-oriented early career programmes in the BFSI, e-Commerce, and technology industries, executive education for working professionals, and corporate-level organizational learning and development interventions.

This initiative by MSSDS is a great example of how EdTech is being utilized to prepare students for the digital age. It provides students with the tools they need to succeed in their careers, while also empowering them to become entrepreneurs and create a sustainable and financially independent workforce. Teachers can play an integral role in this process by helping students to maximize their chances of success.
