Jamia Millia Islamia and ShowReel Launch AI-Powered Inquiry-Based Learning App to Inspire Next-Gen Entrepreneurs

EdtechReview.in is thrilled to announce the launch of the first-of-its-kind inquiry-based learning app, the Jamia-ShowReel app, a collaboration between Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and ShowReel, a startup led by Sabeer Bhatia. The platform is designed to revolutionize education for the 21st century, leveraging the power of AI to design innovative courses and create short-form videos to offer a transformative learning experience.

The Jamia-ShowReel app has the potential to ignite new and critical ways of thinking, helping students to develop the skills and attitudes necessary for a successful entrepreneurial journey. It will foster creative problem-solving abilities, allowing students to express themselves and describe complex subjects uniquely. AI-enabled course design and the use of artificial intelligence to evaluate students’ verbal responses will also be features of the platform.

The impressive inaugural event held at JMI’s Dr. M.A. Ansari Auditorium was attended by Prof. Najma Akhtar (Padma Shri), JMI Vice Chancellor, Mr. Sabeer Bhatia, Founder ShowReel, Prof. Equbal Husain, Pro Vice Chancellor, JMI, Mr. Javed Yunus, Co-Founder, ShowReel, Prof. Nazim Husain Jafri, Registrar, JMI, Deans, HoDs, faculty, and students of the University. During the event, both sides signed the Agreement.

This collaboration marks JMI’s first partnership with a non-educational entity. The Jamia-ShowReel platform will be awarding six credits for completing a course using an app and is aimed at replacing the traditional one-way, instructor-led model with a self-directed, inquiry-based approach. ShowReel is dedicated to mentoring and assisting Indian youngsters and entrepreneurs in developing the necessary tools and attitudes to begin and sustain successful business ventures.

Jamia Millia Islamia, founded in 1920, is an A++-rated central university in New Delhi, India. It was ranked third in the universities category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2023 for the second year in a row.
