Education technology is revolutionizing the way we learn and the way we teach. One of the latest developments in the edtech space is Hunar Online Courses, an online platform created with the aim of empowering women worldwide. This platform is specifically aimed at countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.

Hunar Online Courses offers courses in fashion, food, and beauty, making it ideal for a broad range of users, including homemakers, students, and working professionals. The platform is designed to help women become financially independent and to nurture the spirit of entrepreneurship among them. It was recently joined by Bollywood icon Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who is acting as an investor and brand ambassador to further its vision.

The Hunar Online Courses platform recently hosted its first virtual graduation ceremony for 6,000 students from over 100 cities all over India. During the event, more than 30,000 online participants were served, showcasing the students’ journeys of learning from home and achieving success with their talents. Currently, the platform has over two million women and 25,000 students, with 30% successfully running their businesses and earning more than Rs 50,000 per month on average.

The platform was founded by Nishtha Yogesh, a Chartered Accountant and MBA graduate. Nishtha is a firm believer in the potential of education and technology as equalizers. Through Hunar Online Courses, she hopes to empower the women of India with the necessary skills and opportunities to achieve financial independence.

In the United States, women earned 82 cents for every dollar earned by men in 2019, a considerable increase from the 1980 figure of 62 cents for every dollar. In India, however, women earned just 59 cents for every dollar earned by men in 2019, with only 20 percent of women participating in the labor force, compared to 75 percent of men, as reported by the World Bank.

Hunar Online Courses is a great example of how education technology can be used to bridge the gender gap. By providing skill-based education to women, it is making a significant contribution to the social change and financial independence of women. Teachers looking to make an impact in the edtech space should definitely check out Hunar Online Courses.
