Educators around the world are embracing technological advancements to create better learning experiences for their students. With this, Talent, a global technology recruiter and digital services provider, recently acquired People&Co, a Wellington-based recruitment agency. This acquisition follows Talent’s successful fiscal year, where gross margin surpassed $100 million and EBITDA increased by more than 10%.

People&Co is a proud Māori-owned organisation and a member of the All-of-Government (AoG) External Recruitment and Consultancy panels. Through its platform, co.star, it offers OD, HR and business consulting to individuals and organizations looking to drive change or results.

Mark Nielsen, Global CEO of Talent, spoke on the acquisition: “When the opportunity to acquire People&Co arose, we believed it would be an excellent fit for Talent. In addition to significant growth potential, we recognized a strong affinity in terms of culture and vision between the two organizations and our shared commitment to the New Zealand market.”

The acquisition furthers Talent’s strategy to expand its core recruitment business and provides a platform for building its project delivery, automation, and data consultancy business, Avec.

Sam Collins, Managing Director of People&Co, will join the Talent Group and be responsible for scaling Avec’s business in New Zealand. He said: “It’s a new era for the People&Co brand and me. We are excited about the opportunities Talent and Avec will deliver for our sales team and our customers, candidates and contractors. The culture that we have built is aligned with Talent, which was a non-negotiable, and we resonated with the growth mindset of the leaders and their teams.”

Kara Smith, Country Manager, Talent New Zealand, commented: “We are incredibly excited about the acquisition of People&Co. Talent’s commitment to further expanding and investing in Aotearoa is an exciting time for all our team members, clients, candidates and contractors, and this growth begins a new chapter for us.”

Education technology is rapidly changing the way teachers and students interact in the classroom. Talent’s commitment to empowering people to create a better working environment for all is in line with this trend. Its experts are dedicated to providing the most rewarding experiences for students, teachers, and the education community. With the acquisition of People&Co, Talent is well-positioned to help educators embrace technological advancements and create better learning experiences for their students.
