The evolution of technology in the education sector is transforming the way students learn. To continue this trend of learning and innovation, UPES, a multidisciplinary university in Dehradun, has recently signed an MoU with HCLTech, a global technology company with over 221,000 employees in 60 countries. This alliance will provide UPES School of Business and Advanced Engineering students with real-world learning opportunities.

The collaboration between UPES and HCLTech entails several key initiatives to provide students and research scholars with extraordinary opportunities for growth and learning. These initiatives include providing students with internships and projects that address critical industry challenges like reducing the carbon footprint. Additionally, students will be exposed to cutting-edge digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, Data Engineering and Cloud Computing.

The partnership also aims to strengthen academic-industry collaboration by allowing industry professionals access to UPES professors and lecturers specializing in various subjects. This exchange of ideas will foster meaningful discussions and lead to innovative solutions for industry-related challenges. Furthermore, UPES and HCL Tech will also join forces to host webinars and participate in industry forums focusing on topics such as sustainability, safety in oil field operations, and operational excellence.

UPES offers graduate and postgraduate programs across eight schools such as the School of Advanced Engineering, School of Computer Science, School of Design, School of Law, School of Business, School of Health Sciences & Technology, School of Modern Media, and School of Liberal Studies. It has 14000+ students and 1500+ faculty and staff members.

The Vice Chancellor of UPES, Dr Ram Sharma, said, “We are excited to announce our partnership with HCLTech and the opportunities it presents for our students and researchers to work on projects and internships in the energy sector. This partnership will enable our students to develop digital solutions that promote sustainability, innovation, value optimization and prioritization of low-carbon solutions. We look forward to hosting webinars and forums to explore new possibilities.”
