Education technology has enabled innovative initiatives that are helping students make informed decisions about their careers. The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has launched an exciting collaboration with iDreamCareer (iDC) to provide career guidance to government school students. The project, which was launched on October 9th, has a dedicated team of 31 counsellors to provide students in grades 10th and 12th with in-person counselling in Varanasi, Meerut, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Ghaziabad.

The project is supported by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation and aims to increase the yearly Eligible Enrollment Rate (EER) by five per cent. The strategy involves offering in-person counselling sessions, detailed information on career examination patterns and a helpline number to provide last-mile assistance until students secure admission to a college or vocational programme.

iDC is India’s first multilingual career guidance platform, with five regional languages now available. It provides high school and undergraduate college students with 1,000+ hours of content on careers, colleges, exams, scholarships, reliable and validated psychometric assessment tools, and personalized counselling.

Teachers play a crucial role in developing the skills of their students and helping them make informed decisions about their future. By offering career guidance and educational awareness initiatives, this project seeks to empower teachers and students to create a brighter future for UP students. With the help of iDC’s career guidance platform, students can explore various career options and access scholarships to pursue their dreams.

This initiative is a great example of how technology can be leveraged to provide students with the necessary resources and assistance to make informed decisions about their career. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this project will have on the lives of UP students.
