As Balamurali Shankar, General Manager of the Digital Skills Academy at IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, said: “Most students from the 2023 programme were placed in top IT/ITES organizations and start-ups. We plan to extend this programme in 2024, aiming to benefit deserving learners nationwide. This initiative aims to propel them forward in their chosen career paths by addressing the gap between the knowledge and skills of graduate students and the industry’s demands.”
To be eligible to apply for this programme, students must have an engineering degree in ECE, CSE or EEE with a minimum 60% aggregate, and must have graduated in 2021-2022 or 2022-23. Entrance examinations will be conducted at Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra centres. A stipend will be offered to eligible students, and the total number of students accepted is limited to 30.
Applicants who are accepted into the programme will be able to benefit from Sony India Software Centre Pvt Ltd’s expertise in information security, enterprise application development and support, and embedded software development. Sony India will also induct a few top performers at the end of the programme, and the IITM Pravartak placement cell will assist the remaining students with placements in other companies.
Educators and students alike can benefit from this programme, which offers an invaluable opportunity for students to gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the job market. With the Finishing School Training Programme, students can gain a competitive edge and be better prepared for the future.
