As digital technology advances, so does the way we learn. Young Heroes, a Netherlands-based HRTech company focusing on coaching and guiding young professionals using its career platform, has recently raised €400,000 in funding from G-Force Capital and the Investment and Development Agency for the Northern Netherlands (NOM). With this fresh capital, the Dutch startup plans to expand its team and develop its platform to enable young professionals to learn and grow in the workplace.
Co-founded by Sarah Hoeckner and Eva van Leeuwen in 2021, Young Heroes offers learning and development programmes for young professionals and customizes the offering to Gen Z’s learning and development needs supported by a scalable SaaS platform, taking this responsibility off of businesses. The platform connects young talent with knowledgeable coaches and provides practical training, workshops, and honest advice related to careers and professional growth. The program is available to young professionals from various organizations. Offerings from Young Heroes are based on the tested techniques of parent company YFK Research & Marketing, established by Eva van Leeuwen in 2016.
Speaking about the fundraising, Co-founder & CEO of Young Heroes, Eva van Leeuwen, said:
“Young Heroes is already serving businesses across the country, and we have momentum. The investment will support us in expanding our team and further developing the product. We have strong growth ambitions, and the investment pushes us to go faster. We have found experienced partners in G-Force and the NOM who want to continue this journey with us. We are really looking forward to it.”
According to the company, Gen Z workers will represent 30% of the workforce by 2023. Their attitudes, behaviours and expectations have been developed in an unpredictable and constantly changing labour market. This group’s demands around ongoing education and professional growth are unparalleled.
Young Heroes aims to empower young professionals to confidently shape their future by building self-confidence through knowledge and community.
Niek Huizenga, Fund Manager of G-Force Capital, added:
“The Young Heroes team understands better than anyone what Generation Z wants from their professional career. Their range of coaching, knowledge and network fits in perfectly with this.”
Investment Manager of NOM, Ytsen van der Meer, commented:
“Young Heroes is a young HR tech startup with an enthusiastic entrepreneurial team. The company focuses on a recognizable problem in a large (Dutch) market. What is clear is that the story is resonating with several companies. The investment by NOM and G-Force allows the company to continue this and offer young professionals coaching and guidance with which they can start their careers with flying colours.”
