Digital Training Platform for Healthcare Professionals Adds Multilingual Capabilities

As the healthcare industry continues to grow, the need for digital training platforms that can help healthcare professionals enhance their skills is growing as well. MedLern, an education technology startup, has responded to this rising demand by introducing multilingual capabilities in eight Indian regional languages.

The move aims to address the language barriers often faced by healthcare professionals in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities who need more English language skills and understanding to get the most out of the courses provided on its platform. The project will begin with eight significant languages in the pilot phase, drawn from the four zones of the country. These languages include Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, and Bengali.

Speaking about the development, Co-founder & CEO of MedLern, Deepak Sharma, said: “It is focused on staff within the level of nursing assistants, general duty assistants, allied health professionals, technicians and below, so the depth is basic and operational, and is not as technical as other advanced courses. To make it work, we’ve worked with internal and external experts to produce and compile all the contents in the different languages. These experts are also involved in the review process to ensure quality is always maintained. This way, users and learners can better understand and benefit from the courses. We’ll focus on some other areas with emerging demand in the future, including courses for healthcare at home, mental health, and other specialized areas. One good thing about these new courses is that they are cost-effective because we realize that practitioners from Tier 2 and 3 regions that need these courses have limited financial capacity.”

The courses are targeted primarily at general duty staff, such as medical and nursing assistants who need proper English skills. The point is to ensure that these employees are well-educated on the procedures and can absorb the necessary knowledge and skills to thrive in their profession. MedLern currently has 150 nursing medical colleges and 400 hospitals in its network whose staff from the nursing cadre and below can benefit from the new courses.

Founded in 2020, MedLern is a full-stack medical training platform that caters to the knowledge needs of healthcare professionals in India and across the globe. It offers reliable & up to date learning resources and technology to healthcare professionals and enables them to deliver the best in healthcare by consistently upgrading their skill set. The platform has been adopted in hospitals of all sizes and is helping hospitals optimize the training resources while allowing hospital leadership to drive measurable improvements in staff performance and achieve better patient outcomes linked to training investment.

With the addition of multilingual capabilities, MedLern is now helping healthcare professionals from Tier 2 and 3 cities access the same quality of training as their counterparts from Tier 1 cities. The platform is making basic hospital training, processes, and procedures more accessible, which can open up opportunities and ultimately improve the quality of care.
