The future of recruiting is here and it’s Humanly, an HRtech startup based in Seattle. Recently, the company raised $12 million in a Series A round led by Drive Capital. With this investment, Humanly plans to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams.

Humanly is transforming the recruitment process by providing AI-powered chatbot technology that helps automate tasks like screening, scheduling, and reconnecting with candidates. The platform also offers reference checks, automated notes, follow-up emails, and insights to help streamline the interview process. The startup has already served over 1 million job candidates, including big names such as Microsoft, Fazoli’s, and Moss Adams.

As stated by Humanly’s Co-founder & CEO Prem Kumar, “Any conversation you’re having with job candidates, via SMS chatbot or human, we want to be there and make those more efficient and more equitable.” Humanly’s library of conversations is carefully crafted to be free of any bias triggers. This includes gendered words, culture-specific terminology, and questions that may lead to biased responses. Additionally, customers can choose to hide fields like the candidate’s name, allowing them to focus on factors that could predict success in the role.

The company has raised a total of $18 million, with its most recent round of funding being a $4.2 million Series A in September 2021, with participation from Zeal Capital Partners, Spark Growth Ventures, and the Basecamp fund.

For teachers and administrators, Humanly is a great way to make the recruitment process more efficient and equitable. The automated tools can take away the mundane tasks, while the AI-powered chatbot can help establish deeper connections with potential candidates. By streamlining the recruitment process, Humanly is making it easier for teachers and administrators to find the best candidates for the job.
