EdTechReview recently reported on the launch of Leverage Edu’s revolutionary student accommodation platform, Fly Homes. The platform was launched with the goal of providing end-to-end solutions to students who wish to pursue higher education opportunities abroad. After a successful pilot launch in the United Kingdom, Fly Homes achieved an impressive gross booking value of Rs 100 crore within just six months.
Founder and CEO of Leverage Edu, Akshay Chaturvedi, commented on the success: “We are committed to providing the best possible higher education and career services to Indian students abroad to study. We launched Fly Homes with the singular aim of providing end-to-end solutions to students. We want to ensure they have access to safe and comfortable accommodation, a part-time job to help with daily expenses and access to alums for guidance. That is why Fly Homes has achieved resounding success.”
Fly Homes have onboarded over 500 student bodies in their partner universities, which helps students get access to part-time jobs and internships. The company has plans to expand to other countries in Europe and the US in the next two quarters.
Leverage Edu was founded in April 2017, and provides full-stack services, including counselling, application-admission support, and financing to students pursuing international education. The platform helps students figure out what they should do and where they should be to realize their full potential. It also helps students navigate and assess their journey thus far, matches them to personalized mentors, counsels them towards their higher education dream with an employability lens, and ensures that everyone punches way above their weight to make dreams come alive and indeed be able to level up.
The startup is backed by institutions such as ETS, Shorelight, Blume Ventures, Kaizenvest PE, DSP Mutual Fund, Tomorrow Capital, DSG Consumer Partners, Trifecta Capital, and family offices such as Mankind Pharma, Capri Global, Indorama Ventures, Vicco, Singularity Ventures, as well as individual operators like Binny Bansal, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Kunal Shah, Ashish Hemrajani, Peyush Bansal, Ankur Warikoo, Karan Khemka, Ash Lilani, Vishal Gondal and Amrish Rau.
Leverage Edu has enrolled over 6000 students monthly, offering them dedicated counselling, application support, college admissions, education loans, international money transfer and student accommodation. Last month, the firm raised $40 million in its Series C round led by Educational Testing Service (ETS), an educational testing and assessment organization.
This launch of Fly Homes is an exciting development for students studying abroad, and could potentially revolutionize the process of finding accommodation. With its success in the UK, the hope is that Leverage Edu will continue to provide students with the end-to-end solutions they need as they pursue their higher education dreams.
