Recently, PW launched PW Institute of Innovation (PW IOI), a four-year Computer Science and AI residential programme. Located in Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India, the initiative is designed to bridge the demand and supply gap of professionals and the employability gap.
The four-year residential programme is comprehensive and has been designed to make students future-ready. With experienced faculty and industry mentors from top companies, the curriculum is industry-oriented and covers real-world projects. To further enhance the programme, students can also get up to 100% scholarships, personalized guidance, four internships, networking opportunities, global exposure, and a state-of-the-art campus.
Commenting on the development, CIO of Physics Wallah & President of PW IOI, Vishwa Mohan, said: “It is concerning that despite the exponential growth in the Indian software industry, the employability rate of Indian engineering graduates has remained relatively low. PW IOI aims to address this issue by equipping professionals with employable and practical skills for the rapidly evolving job market.”
The curriculum has been carefully designed to align with the technology trends in the market today and also allows students to pursue a bachelor’s degree in parallel from a premier institute. The degree qualifies individuals to explore higher education opportunities in India or abroad and makes them eligible to appear for competitive exams.
Chief Executive Officer of PW Skills, Sudhanshu Kumar, added: “By combining real-world experience with an industry-focused curriculum, we aim to cater to the immediate needs of our students while also bridging the gap between demand and supply in future job opportunities. Towards the end of the course, the institute’s placement cell will offer assistance in securing job offers, with partnerships established with over 500 hiring partners.”
PW Skills is one of the largest online platforms for tech skilling, with nearly 1 lakh users. It offers courses in Hindi and English, providing a complete skilling ecosystem in one place. The platform also provides necessary hardware through the cloud, enabling learners with basic PCs and internet connections to participate in software development and programming courses without expensive hardware. Additionally, PW Skills offers placement assistance through its job portal and has partnered with over 500 companies.
The first batch of PW IOI is set to start on 27th September 2023, with orientation on 25th September 2023. Students eligible for JEE Advance can apply for direct admission to the programme. Registrations for the new batch are now open at pwioi.com, with the entrance exam scheduled for 19th August 2023.
