DropStat Raises $5.5 Million to Help Healthcare Organizations Combat Clinical Staffing Shortages

Teachers are essential to the education system, and as demand for their services continues to grow, so does the need for new technology solutions to help manage staffing shortages. The team at DropStat, a AI-powered workforce automation platform, are doing just that, and recently raised $5.5 million in a seed round led by Panoramic Ventures to take their efforts to the next level.

DropStat helps healthcare facilities predict staffing needs and fill shift gaps with cost and safety in mind. Using open APIs, the platform integrates with other travel and shift marketplaces and provides cost management, churn prediction and feedback to help healthcare companies build stronger teams and fill more shifts.

The company’s CEO Sara Well believes that healthcare facilities must be empowered to build stronger teams and reduce reliance on high-priced outsourced labour. With Covid-19 fatigue leading to 500,000 nurses leaving the industry and a further 1 million set to retire in the coming years, the need for a reliable staffing solution is greater than ever.

DropStat’s technology gives nurses more control over their schedule and helps healthcare facilities understand earlier in the process when they will need outside help. This awareness helps to reduce costs and make staff more satisfied with their working environment.

The seed funding will enable DropStat to expand its services across the US, targeting over 50 markets, as well as develop new products and systems to help teachers and educational institutions manage their staffing needs. With teachers under increasing pressure to deliver, the platform promises to offer an invaluable resource in the way of workforce automation.

General Partner of Panoramic Ventures, Paul Iaffaldano, had this to say: “Dropstat helps healthcare facilities solve nurse shortages. The secret is that the software gives nurses more control over their schedule, which makes them happier to work more shifts. It also helps a facility understand much earlier in the process when they will need outside help. That awareness drives down the cost of labour and makes staff more satisfied with their work environment.”

Teachers are essential to the education system, and new technology solutions such as DropStat are helping to ensure they can deliver without relying on expensive and unreliable external resources.
