Schools and educational organizations are now experiencing the benefits of digitizing their human resources processes. Talana, a Chilean startup specializing in providing HR solutions, has recently raised $8 million in a funding round to expand its operations into Mexico and Peru. The capital will also be used to develop new products and services to solidify its position as a regional leader in HR software.
Founded in 2016 by Pablo de la Barra and José Antonio Akel, Talana is dedicated to making the work experience of teachers and staff more efficient and enjoyable. The company delivers technological solutions that accompany HR areas, helping them reach their maximum potential and meet the expectations of a modern workplace. With its human technology, the HRTech platform seeks to constantly improve the user experience and respond to present and future needs.
Ignacio Spiniak, Chief Executive Officer of Talana, spoke about the fundraising and the potential of Mexico and Peru: “Mexico presents a unique opportunity due to its large formal workforce, which is four times bigger than Chile’s. Peru also has significant potential due to its size comparable to Chile’s but with much lower adoption of human resources software.”
Talana’s success has been impressive since its inception with over 5,500 clients in Chile and Peru, catering to a user base of more than 400,000 people. Its app is Chile’s most downloaded HR software and the firm has already made one acquisition to support its expansion.
This new capital will enable the company to take their innovative products and services even further and to help teachers and support staff manage their resources more efficiently. It is clear that Talana is one of the most exciting startups in the HR space, and teachers and schools should keep an eye on the company’s progress.
