EdTechReview.in reports on NeuroTrainer, a mental fitness system that enables athletes to excel beyond their current levels of performance. NeuroTrainer harnesses cognitive training to train the mind, and has recently secured an investment from NOVA Prime Fund, a venture capital fund created by LG Electronics and Clearbrook, LLC.
This new funding will help NeuroTrainer expand its reach, offering advanced cognitive training to individuals from a variety of industries. The San Francisco-based startup combines neuroscience, sports science, and immersive media to create training, measurement, and neuro-analytics that help athletes hone their focus, decision speed, situational awareness, and overall athletic performance.
The technology is currently being used by NBA, NHL, MLB, collegiate DI teams, elite athletes, trainers, and coaches. NeuroTrainer has also been developed in collaboration with the National Science Foundation and leverages virtual reality to override the visual, auditory, and proprioceptive systems. This results in a fully immersive experience that is specifically designed to drive peak performance.
Commenting on the fundraising, Chief Executive Officer of NeuroTrainer, Noah Rolland, said: “As NeuroTrainer ventures into new horizons, the investment from NOVA Prime Fund marks a pivotal step in making advanced cognitive training accessible and beneficial to a broader audience. It is a testament to our shared belief in innovation that genuinely impacts lives and heralds a new era in universal cognitive wellness and performance.”
The NOVA Prime Fund’s Managing Director, Ali Diallo, also spoke on the investment: “The NOVA Prime Fund seeks to support digital health innovations that can offer people a healthier lifestyle. NeuroTrainer’s science-backed approach promises athletic excellence and catalyses overall human improvement in various facets of life and work.”
This investment follows a capital raise led by 9.58 Ventures, and Fred Toney, General Partner, has joined the NeuroTrainer board of directors. Professional athletes, coaches, and investors in 9.58 include Omar Sillah, Deion Jones (NFL), David Vanterpool (NBA), Jalen Mills (NFL), and Francis Tiafoe (ATP).
NeuroTrainer’s advanced technology is now being used to serve the Department of Defense, corporate performance optimisation, and to help ADHD students. With this new investment, teachers now have access to a powerful tool to help students reach their full potential, both in and out of the classroom.
