The need for quality education is a pressing issue around the world. To ensure that our students have the best learning experience and gain the necessary skills to succeed in the future, we must empower teachers and educationists. Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, is taking a step in this direction by launching a virtual Teachers’ Summer Fest on TheTeacherApp, a new tech initiative.

The 10-day long Fest, starting from 21st June 2023, will cover a range of topics related to the theme of the Summer Fest – ‘Theatre and Storytelling in Education’. It will be conducted virtually on TheTeacherApp, making it accessible to a broader audience. Experts such as Dr Jaishree Sethi, a storyteller and teacher trainer based in Delhi, and Ms Choiti Ghosh, a well-known actor, will conduct webinars (conducted in Hinglish), theatre games and panel discussions.

TheTeacherApp is an innovative technology solution created to empower teachers and educationists. It will host the webinars, quizzes, polls, competitions and other activities related to the Fest. Through its interactive format, teachers will be able to engage in stimulating discussions, gain fresh insights, and contribute to a nationwide movement for transformative education.

Chief Executive Officer of Bharti Foundation, Mamta Saikia, expressed her excitement towards the initiative. She said, “Bharti Foundation has been relentlessly working to make quality education available to underprivileged children, especially girls. With many flagship programs, TheTeacherApp’s Summer Fest is another initiative towards our goal of ensuring quality education by empowering school learners, teachers and educationists. We aim to target 10,000+ teachers across India.”

Started its operations in 2000, Bharti Foundation has implemented and supported programs in primary, secondary and higher education. Through its flagship Satya Bharti School Program, it provides free quality education to thousands of underprivileged children in 173 schools in rural India across five states. It has also transferred its learning and good practices to more than 3 lakh students studying in 808 partnering government schools across 11 States/UTs, through Satya Bharti Quality Support Program (QSP). Additionally, it has meaningfully impacted more than 2 million children through its education programs this year.

The Teachers’ Summer Fest is an excellent initiative to celebrate and empower teachers for their invaluable contributions to society. Educators nationwide should seize this opportunity for personal and professional growth and help create an enabling environment to ensure the universal acquisition of foundational literacy and numeracy (FNL).
