Noodle Acquires Meteor Learning to Expand its Network of Universities, Employers, and Learners

Noodle, an online education network of universities, employers, and learners, has recently acquired Meteor Learning, a high-growth company with extensive experience in serving the needs of adult learners. The acquisition will strengthen Noodle’s capacity to provide support to its partners in becoming more resilient and efficient.

Meteor Learning was founded on the belief that aligning education with labour market competencies is the best approach to improving productivity, closing the wage gap, and providing sustainable employment. The platform provides learners with a broad portfolio of skills-based programming developed and validated by higher education and employer partners.

William Rieders and Donna Ritchie, the founders of Meteor Learning, have joined the Noodle leadership team and will be responsible for overseeing Noodle’s consultancy practice, which helps universities leverage technology and data to achieve their strategic goals.

Noodle’s University-to-Employer service is designed to assist learners in achieving their career goals and objectives. Furthermore, the acquisition will enable Noodle to provide services to over 65 top US and UK universities, including higher education and employer partnerships, learning design, marketing, recruiting, support, strategy and technology services.

John Katzman, Founder and CEO of Noodle, commented on the acquisition: “Meteor extends our capacity and reach. I am very excited to work with Bill and Donna, who bring tremendous insight and experience to the team. This acquisition will expand our consulting practice with leadership, expertise, methodologies and proven results to solve a unique challenge.”

The acquisition of Meteor Learning is another step forward for Noodle in its mission to make education more accessible and affordable. Earlier this year, the startup acquired Hubble Studios, an e-learning design firm, which marked Noodle’s international debut, allowing it to expand to seven countries.

This acquisition is a great opportunity for teachers and professors to gain access to new tools and resources that will help them foster their students’ professional development and career goals. With its innovative models and expanded services, Meteor Learning helps universities navigate the ever-changing post-secondary market, providing a return on education to assist learners in achieving their career objectives.
