Educators are always on the lookout for innovative ways to support their students and help them reach their full potential. As such, PowerUs, a Berlin-based career platform for skilled blue-collar workers such as electricians and plant mechanics, has recently raised $25.7 million (€24.0 million) in a Series B financing round led by Eurazeo, General Catalyst, Headline and HV-Capital. This investment will help the platform improve the user experience and develop new features.

Founded in 2019 by Konrad Geiger and Julian Lindinger, PowerUs has already connected over 850 craft businesses and 80,000 electronic technicians and system mechanics. The platform makes it easier for professionals to network with each other and find new career opportunities. Companies can use PowerUs to post personalised job advertisements and discover qualified specialists.

Apprenticeship-trained technical specialists are essential to meet today’s challenges, such as climate change, energy transition, and building and industry automation. PowerUs provides these professionals with the employment opportunities they deserve and opportunities to find better career alternatives. The platform also offers online courses in collaboration with partner companies such as Viessmann and Hager.

At EdTechReview, we believe that technology can help provide equal opportunity for all. We are excited to see how PowerUs will help blue-collar workers and craftsmen discover new career avenues and continue to grow in their respective fields.
