EdTech is evolving at a rapid pace, and Pankhuri has recently taken a significant step forward in the EdTech community and social commerce market by acquiring Palash. This strategic move aims to leverage the combined strengths of both companies to bring innovation, expand reach, and improve the lives of millions of Indian women.

Co-founded by Pallavi Patil and Jaydeep Pawar, Palash is a platform dedicated to empowering Indian women. It offers training and resources for women to learn new skills, build connections within a vibrant community, and engage in micro-businesses or reselling. Palash has already gained over 100,000 registered users, 200+ trainers, and a library of video courses with over 50,000 minutes of content.

With this acquisition, Pankhuri intends to integrate Palash’s user base, trainers, and technology infrastructure, as well as enhance their offerings to Indian women. Palash will officially be rebranded as the Pankhuri Community and the app will be relaunched for the combined user base.

The CEO of Pankhuri, Moksha Srivastava, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition: “We believe that by combining the forces of Pankhuri and Palash, we can yield a more resourceful platform for connecting, engaging, and discovery. This collaboration will allow us to innovate and amplify our efforts, ushering in a new era of possibilities for women across India.”

The goal of this acquisition is to establish Pankhuri as the leader in women’s education and social commerce. They plan to grow their user base to 10 Lakh registered users and 2000 experts in the next two years, creating a more empowered and prosperous landscape for Indian women.

Pallavi Patil, Co-founder of Palash, is also delighted about the merger: “This collaboration marks a meaningful step in our journey towards women’s empowerment. The merger of Pankhuri and Palash signifies a commitment to uplift and nurture the potential of women across tier 2+ cities.”

Pankhuri has developed an innovative platform to empower women in India. It provides networking, learning, and shopping opportunities through features like live streaming, interactive chat, and cohort-based sessions. This encourages women to become proactive participants in beauty and lifestyle conversations online, rather than just being consumers. In July 2021, Pankhuri successfully raised $3.2 million in funding from a range of investors, including Surge, India Quotient, and Taurus Ventures.

Teachers now have the opportunity to benefit from Pankhuri and Palash’s merger to engage with Indian women and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and resources to reach their potential. This powerful collaboration is sure to have a positive impact on the lives of millions of women across India.
