India Gears Up for Its Third Lunar Mission with Chandrayaan-3: A Historic Moment for Indian Science, Engineering, and Technology

EdTechReview.in is excited to announce the launch of Chandrayaan-3, India’s third lunar mission. Scheduled to arrive on August 23, this mission marks a significant milestone in the country’s science, engineering, technology and industry. The mission seeks to explore previously undiscovered areas of the moon and will demonstrate safe and soft landings, rover roving and in-situ scientific experiments.

On September 7, 2019, the Chandrayaan-2 mission failed in its lunar phase when its lander, ‘Vikram’ crashed onto the lunar surface due to irregularities in its braking system. Despite this setback, India is determined to make history with the upcoming mission.

The importance of space science education has been growing in the 21st century as it is seen to promote STEM disciplines. India’s moon mission is a great opportunity for teachers and students to witness first-hand the difference between space exploration and what is seen in movies.

Teachers across all states have been asked to organize a live webcast of the landing to make this historic moment accessible to students. The mission hopes to inspire the next generation of scientists and explorers and serve as an inspiration for more ambitious lunar expeditions. This mission is a proud chapter in India’s journey to the moon and will help advance our understanding of the universe.
