Special Education Teachers Can Keep Their Jobs with Creatively Focused
Burnout is a major issue among special education teachers, and it’s one that has been growing in recent years. Fortunately, an educational technology company is helping to solve this problem. Creatively Focused, founded by Elizabeth Orme, has raised $3 million in seed funding to help keep special education teachers in the classroom and reduce burnout.
The Minnesota-based startup intends to use this funding to expand its services and impact to all 50 states. Their goal is to empower teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators to reclaim the necessary time and create a more connected professional community.
Creatively Focused offers an SaaS platform called axis3, as well as personalized services and a curated resource library. This approach makes it easier for special education teachers to stay dedicated to their career paths and devote more time to their students.
Elizabeth Orme, Founder & CEO of Creatively Focused, said: “We’re thrilled to have closed this round with investors who see the great opportunity we have to impact education. Every special educator who chooses this work deserves to feel like it can be their career, and students deserve passionate, committed, and supported educators. This funding positions Creatively Focused to ensure all school districts across the U.S. know there is a solution to increasing the retention and recruitment of these valued educators.”
School districts nationwide are teaming up with Creatively Focused to help special education teachers stay in the classroom with the resources they need. Joe Keeley, CEO of JustiFi Technologies and Creatively Focused board member, added: “As the former CEO of a leading childcare and education platform, the Creatively Focused vision is one I genuinely believe in. Unfortunately, many leaders are forced to put a bandaid on the retention issues plaguing our school systems today. Elizabeth and her team are getting to the root of the problem with technology and resources, allowing educators to focus on what matters most – their students.”
Creatively Focused is helping to alleviate the special education teacher shortage crisis by providing an innovative solution to the issue. Teachers now have the resources and support they need to remain passionate, committed, and supported in their jobs. This is a huge win for special education teachers and students alike!
