Edtechreview.in is proud to announce the launch of an innovative collaboration between LeapScholar, India’s biggest platform for study abroad aspirants, and the University of Delaware, a research university in the United States (US). Through this partnership, LeapScholar is providing Indian students the opportunity to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Finance postgraduate programme in a hybrid format from the US at a much lower cost.
This MS in Finance programme will be delivered to students in India with the first semester being taught online and the remaining two semesters on-campus in Newark, Delaware. This hybrid format will reduce the overall cost of the programme by up to 30%, saving approximately Rs 15.60 lakh, depending on currency conversion rates. Moreover, the requirement for GRE test scores has been waived as part of the eligibility criteria for the programme.
Any student with a three-year undergraduate degree or a four-year engineering degree can apply for this programme. This STEM designated programme also makes Indian students eligible to apply for a three-year post-study work visa in the US upon graduation, just like full-time international students.
Co-founder of LeapScholar, Vaibhav Singh, said: “At LeapScholar, we are dedicated to democratizing international education, and our collaboration with the University of Delaware is the first step in that journey. The sought after MS in Finance programme in a hybrid format will be immensely beneficial to Indian students as well as meet the increasing demand for financial experts with hands-on business problem-solving abilities. We plan to add more hybrid programmes for Indian students in the near future.”
Graduates of this programme will be eligible for up to 36 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT). The Spring session starts on February 6, 2024, and applications are now open for Indian students. The last date to apply is November 15, 2023.
Terry Campbell, Associate Professor of Finance and Program Director of the MS in Finance programmes at the University of Delaware, said: “We are delighted to partner with LeapScholar to bring the University of Delaware’s master of science in finance degree to students in India. This programme is a STEM-designated degree designed to equip students with the quantitative and analytical skillset to succeed in the competitive finance and financial data analytics field.”
Oliver Yao, Dean of UD’s Lerner College, commented: “Our partnership with LeapScholar is in line with our mission of fostering intellectually curious and globally-minded lifelong learners. We are excited to build this hybrid programme to provide qualified students in India the chance to enhance their knowledge with our distinguished faculty. Moreover, they can take advantage of Delaware’s unique proximity to leading businesses in Philadelphia, New York City and Washington, DC.”
