Education technology is revolutionizing the way teachers source and select international talent. Recruitroo, an Irish recruitment and migration platform, has raised $1.1 million (€1.0 million) in a funding round led by Delta Partners, with participation from Enterprise Ireland and some angel investors.
Founded in April 2022 by Shane Kiernan and Stephen MacCarthy, Recruitroo’s mission is to use software to simplify and enhance the international recruitment process for both employers and candidates. Its services are designed to support Irish and UK companies that aim to source international talent across various industries, providing a pool of potential employees who have registered and created profiles that enable employers to assess and select candidates based on their specific requirements.
Shane Kiernan, Co-founder of Recruitroo, commented on the fundraising: “This investment, plus the addition of Andreea, marks a significant milestone for Recruitroo as we strive to transform the international hiring landscape. We are committed to empowering businesses to access top global talent seamlessly while ensuring compliance and simplifying the international recruitment process.”
The platform offers unique features that set it apart in the recruitment industry, such as video-based profiles that provide a comprehensive picture of a candidate’s skills, personality, and current working environment, going beyond what a traditional CV might offer. This helps teachers quickly evaluate core skills, assess language and communication ability, and appreciate the context in which candidates work.

RecruitRoo’s board chair, Andreea Wade, brings a wealth of experience to the company, having founded Opening.io, a recruitment company which was acquired by ICIMS in 2020, and is currently VP of product strategy at ICIMS.
