With the aim of helping children explore their passions and prepare them for future challenges, SoLeLands, an immersive game-based learning platform, has recently secured an undisclosed amount in a funding round led by East Ventures with the participation of SMDV. Founded in 2022 by Jonathan Prathama and Adhi Paisoseputra, the Singapore-based edtech startup will utilize the fresh funds for product development and capacity building, with plans to launch its game in the fourth quarter of 2023.
SoLeLands is a unique solution that focuses on helping parents and educators to nurture children’s self-discovery and equip them with the skills and values they require. The platform provides an enjoyable and meaningful learning experience which surpasses alternative ways children learn and spend their time. It also emphasizes the importance of children’s development across various areas including life skills, virtues, intelligence, and competencies. The edu games apply a game-first approach, presenting learning content in easily digestible formats to ensure better understanding and easier absorption.
The platform also offers a talent manager tool for parent-child collaboration, providing parents with visibility regarding their children’s passions and talent. This helps to empower parents to guide their children’s development, while still prioritizing children’s independence and safety, building their love for learning, and equipping them with lifelong curiosity.
Commenting on the funding round, Co-founder & CEO of SoLeLands, Jonathan Prathama, said: “We believe that the funding and support will enable us to provide the best platform to empower parents and educators to nurture children’s self-discovery and learn the required life skills and competencies. We are confident in seizing the potential ahead and contributing to society’s overall growth.”
Jordy Tenka, Investment Professional of East Ventures, also added: “We believe that SoLeLands’ innovative approach and offering is the right and unprecedented solution because they don’t just focus on life skills and competence, but also on the long-term goal of building a love of learning. SoLeLands is here to empower Indonesia’s education world and ultimately contribute to a better learning process for the younger generation and society.”
As the world of education continues to evolve, edtech startups like SoLeLands are striving to provide innovative solutions to empower parents and educators to make learning an enjoyable and meaningful experience for children. With the platform’s game-first approach, parents can have better visibility into their children’s passions and talents, and guide them to develop the skills and values they need for the future.
