Are you an educator looking for a way to streamline HR processes? Empion is here to help. The Berlin-based provider of HR management software recently announced a seed round of $6.35 million (€6 million), led by Cavalry Ventures, with participation from existing investors Redstone VC and VR Ventures.

Founded by Dr. Annika von Mutius and Dr. Larissa Leitner in December 2021, Empion is a combination of the words “Employer” and “Champion” and helps employers attract the best talent. It uses AI technology and cultural matching to match talent and companies based on skills and cultural fit, and its AI-powered robo advisor quantifies the essential aspects to match the right talent with the right employer.

Empion has already worked with several well-known clients, including Personio, Volksbanken, and Mazars. To measure and quantify corporate culture, Empion developed their own culture test, which uses eight short questions to assess hard facts such as the employer’s performance and soft facts such as corporate culture. The team also works with WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management to continuously refine and improve their methodology.

Empion was previously backed with €2.4 million in pre-seed financing from Redstone VC, Basinghall Partners, and various angel investors from the HRTech industry. Cavalry Ventures, a European early-stage venture capital fund with over €260 million in assets under management, is also a key investor. With their expertise and exclusive network of over 200 angel investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, business professionals, and others, the startup has access to top-level strategy, organizational development, product development, sales, international expansion, hiring, marketing advice, and operational support.

Empion is the perfect tool for educators looking to make the most of their HR processes. With the help of AI technology and culture matching, educators can easily find the right talent and ensure the best fit for their organization.
