As students, teachers, and parents grapple with the changing dynamics of the traditional education system, the Government of India has introduced ULLAS (Understanding Lifelong Learning for All in Society) mobile application. The mobile app was launched by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at the Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam 2023 at the Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

ULLAS is an initiative that seeks to revolutionize education and literacy in India by creating a comprehensive learning ecosystem that bridges gaps in basic literacy and critical life skills. The mobile app is available on both Android and iOS platforms and will serve as a digital gateway for learners to access diverse learning resources through the DIKSHA portal of NCERT.

The app provides an easy and interactive platform for users to register as learners or volunteers. It also promotes a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing in communities across India. To encourage volunteerism, the programme offers incentives like credits in schools and universities, appreciation letters, certificates, felicitation, etc.

ULLAS is primarily designed for citizens aged 15 and above who have not had the opportunity to attend formal schooling. It is an effort to extend education and literacy to marginalized sections of society. Individuals can download the mobile application from Google PlayStore or the iOS App Store.

Teachers have an important role to play in the success of the ULLAS mobile application. By leveraging the platform, teachers can access a wide range of learning materials and resources to help students learn and develop life skills. The app also provides a great opportunity for teachers to stay connected with their students and exchange ideas and knowledge.

The ULLAS mobile application has the potential to revolutionize education and literacy in India. It is a great initiative for teachers to use technology to facilitate access to education and foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing.
