EdTech is revolutionizing the way we learn, and one startup is taking the lead in Early Childhood Education. Raising Superstars, an EdTech company offering educational videos for children aged 0-6, has recently raised $2 million in its pre-Series A round.
The Mumbai-based startup has made its first foray into institutional investment with this investment, which was led by BLinC Invest, a venture capital fund that specializes in EdTech and FinTech. The fresh capital will be used to expand their management team, localize content, and invest in their technology.
Co-founders Raghav Himatsingka, a Stanford University alumnus and former co-founder of Truckola Technologies, and Shraddha Himatsingka, a Leeds University alumna and former parents’ consultant, established Raising Superstars in 2020. The startup has created a pedagogy for early childhood development focused on nurturing positive relationships and a conducive environment for the child’s learning and growth.
Raising Superstars is making an impact with over 500,000 parents as customers and a presence in over 150 countries. Their Prodigy Framework focuses on five learning objectives for the holistic development of child-like Intelligence, creativity, athleticism, the P-sense and the moral code.
Raising Superstars has also created an app called “Prodigy Baby” that is among the top 3 Parenting Apps on the Play Store and a featured app on iOS App Store. The app is designed to provide parents with activities to do with their babies, toddlers, and kids without any screen time for the child, and without pressures of any testing or benchmarking.
The activities take less than 5 minutes a day but have the potential to lead to superior long-term developmental benefits for the child. In addition to this, Raising Superstars provides home activity kits, including colourful booster cards, reading material, memory cards, etc.
Commenting on the fundraising round, Raising Superstars Co-founder & CEO Raghav Himatsingka said: “This fundraising is an important milestone for us because it will help us expand our offerings (both vertically and horizontally) and serve our customers better around the world. We thank the BLinC Invest team for expressing confidence in our product. We are excited about what lies ahead.”
Founder & MD of BLinC Invest, Amit Ratanpal, added: “The Early Childhood Care and Education report 2021 by BLinC Invest depicts a tremendous opportunity in this sector.
